Who is Tracy Lee Tobin?

Picture

Tracy was born in Newfoundland, brought up in Toronto, and now resides in Wyoming Ontario with her husband and two Yorkie puppies.

Tracy worked in health care for 22 years supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Her time was dedicated to others, therefore, limited for herself and her dreams of becoming an artist. In 2012 Tracy decided to leave social services to help her husband start his business and now continues to work for his company part time, giving herself time to focus on her passion.

This nature lover is a self-taught artist, working primarily in acrylic painting, but also enjoys graphite, watercolour, mixed media, and alcohol ink, as well as making wire & bead jewelry and sculpting with clay.

Many of Tracy’s pieces are recognized for her choice in vibrant colours and nature themes. She paints with such enthusiasm and emotion that it is felt by the viewer.
Described by Tracy as… “Art from the Heart”.

Tracy is the Sole Proprietor of SwanLee Art & Design and is very active in the Art Community in Lambton County.
Participating in numerous art shows and art groups, she takes great pleasure in her creative accomplishments and the many opportunities to complete commissioned pieces.

The last 3 years Tracy has been teaching art within the VALS (Visiting Artists in Lambton Schools) program. The programs focus is the elementary school grade 6 students. With the generous support of Gallery in the Grove, 3 teaching artists visit 30 individual classes to discuss "Balance in Art" and proceed to carry out 2 hours of art project fun for each student in those classes. In some cases the classes are mixed grades 5/6 or 6/7 and no grade goes without the challenge to explore their creative imagination and expression.Tracy truly enjoys the energy of the children, especially as she witnesses the information they just received get absorbed and placed onto the paper in their own unique one of a kind interpretation.
**Check out some of the VALS artwork on the KIDS CREATIONS page for fun and creative ideas for your little ones.
